We develop, manufacture and commission industrial cooling and heating plants running on natural refrigerants — CO₂ under the CO2PRO™ name, ammonia under NH3PRO™. All of it sits inside one company in Svolvær, Lofoten.
Product development, system design, heat exchanger design, PLC-based control, manufacturing, pipe welding and commissioning all sit inside Tempia. Our own welders build the pipework. Our own automation engineers write the control system. Our own technicians start the plant. No drawing has to cross a company boundary, and no question ends with someone pointing at a subcontractor. For you that means one accountable partner from first sketch to running plant, and a change late in the project is still possible, because the person who drew it is down the corridor.
Our facility is in Svolvær, in Lofoten, on the Norwegian coast. The vessels, processing plants and aquaculture sites we build for are neighbours rather than export markets, so salt air, seawater pipework, tight machinery spaces and operations that cannot afford a stop are everyday design conditions. That closeness shows up in small decisions: where a valve sits so it can be reached in a swell, which materials survive a coastal winter, how a unit is dimensioned to pass through a door that already exists. Corrosion protection for coastal installation is part of the design, not an afterthought.
CO₂ (R744) and ammonia are the starting point of our plants, not a substitution made late. CO₂ is not toxic and does not require fire-rated EX rooms, so it stays out of the way of your layout, and it is well suited to heat recovery. Ammonia is offered where the duty and the site call for it. Two things we develop ourselves sit on top: the heat exchangers and the PLC-based control with its HMI, so a plant can be monitored, integrated and visualised in one place instead of three.
The same CO₂ platform runs through the range, so a crew that knows one Tempia plant is already halfway into the next. RSW for vessels and shore-based fish processing. Chiller/Heat, a water-to-water chiller and heat pump in a single enclosure, available with an ejector for a COP boost and used in airports and industrial buildings. Freezing, cold rooms and ice are engineered project by project. Published capacities are indicative and confirmed against your actual duty and conditions.
Tempia is a manufacturer and a working contractor at the same time. Our approved PE welders design and carry out pipe installations in PE plastic, with broad experience of systems carrying seawater. Our certified TIG welders cover steel and stainless. So the same organisation can design a plant, weld it into your building or your vessel and start it up.
Some of our customers are shipowners, processing plants and fish farmers buying for their own operation. Others are contractors, importers and distributors putting our plants into deliveries of their own. Both talk to the same sales people and the same engineers. There is no separate channel and no separate story, and we work out which conversation it is when we pick up. Tell us the duty, the refrigerant, the space you have and how the plant should integrate, and the people who would build it are the ones who answer.
You will not find prices here, for one reason: every delivery is engineered to its site. Duty, refrigerant, available space, integration and classification requirements move the answer far too much for a list price to mean anything. Describe your vessel, your building or your site and you get a real answer from the people who would build the plant. Ørnvikveien 6, N-8300 Svolvær, Norway · +47 975 34 147 · post@tempia.no
