The season decides. The temperature has to follow.

Cooling and freezing needs at fish receiving plants

A receiving plant takes what the boats land, when they land it. Between the quay and the cold store the fish passes several temperature duties, and the peak week decides whether the plant keeps up.

Fish receiving plant with chilled-water cooling and heat recoveryA fishing boat lands fish at the quay. Fish passes through an intake bin, a processing line, ice production, a cold room, a freeze room and plate freezers. One RSW unit with a seawater pump chills seawater for the intake and the processing line. One CH unit supplies chilled water to the other four. The heat taken out is recovered in a hot-water tank for washing water, thawing and drying, or rejected through a dry cooler.Fishing vesselIntake binProcessing lineIce productionCold roomFreeze roomPlate freezersSeawater inCO2PRO RSWChilled seawaterCO2PRO CHChiller and heat pumpRefrigerant stays inside each unit.Reuse the heatHeat taken out by the coolingis used again for washing water, thawing and drying.Running: heat recoveryDry coolerSurplus heat to outdoor airIdle in this mode

Keep the fish cold. Find a use for the heat.

Chilled seawater from the RSW unit serves the intake and the processing line. The CH unit serves the ice, the cold room and the freezers. The heat it takes out can serve washing water, thawing and drying through suitable interfaces.

Illustrative system principle: one RSW unit with a pump for the intake and the processing line, one CH unit for the rest, a hot-water tank and a dry cooler. What the ice machine and the freezers need depends on the product: ask us. Valves and control are omitted. Not a delivered installation.

Challenges we can help with

  1. Chilled water and ice for intake and line

Raw material chilled from the moment it is landed, through the intake and along the processing line.

  2. Ice production and cold rooms

Chilled water for ice machines and cold rooms held around 0 °C.

  3. Freezing and frozen storage

Chiller units with brine down to −35 °C out to plate freezers and freezing tunnels, and cooling for frozen storage. Ask us.

  4. Heat for washing water, thawing and drying

The heat removed from chilling, recovered and used in the building instead of bought.

What the plants offer

Several duties from one plant room
Chilling, ice, cold rooms and heat from the same CO₂ platform, so one supplier answers for the whole temperature chain.
Scalable from low to high capacity
A model series per family, and several units in parallel when the duty grows. Sized to your figures, never read off a shelf.
R744, a natural refrigerant
Not toxic, not flammable, GWP of one, and no phase-out date. It does not require a fire-rated EX machinery room, and it is well suited to heat recovery.
Made for retrofit
Compact units that fit into existing machinery rooms and plant rooms, replacing older plants without rebuilding the room around them.
PLC-controlled HMI with options
Our own control system and screen, with integrated flow measurement, valve control, remote access and a range of options chosen for your plant.
