We’re pleased to announce that we at Tempia AS has successfully supplied and retrofitted a new PE-based RSW (refrigerated seawater) circulation system on board the Segla fishing vessel, for Norwegian shipowner Senja Rederi AS.

The delivery includes a new piping system in polyethylene (PE), electric valves and our own Tempia valve control system, designed for simple and efficient circulation control on board. The control system is also equipped with Tempia’s temperature logging system, providing full monitoring and control of the temperature in the fish holds.

PE is generally preferred over steel on board vessels because of a combination of corrosion resistance, low maintenance, low weight, and high material durability.

The purpose of the circulation system is to circulate chilled seawater through the vessel's holds to keep the catch fresh.

The solution is tailored to the vessel's operations and gives the crew good control of the system in day-to-day use.

We would like to thank Senja Rederi AS for their trust and for a good working relationship throughout the project, says Mathias Ingebrigtsen, CCO at Tempia.
